If you know trawlers, you will understand the value in this vessel. Trawlers are a classic design, built to cruise, and to handle local weather. Most trawlers have a ‘Full Displacement’ hull, which increases the boat’s stability through chops and swells, and at anchor. These boats typically cruise at about 7kts to 10kts, depending on weather conditions, but they are one of the most reliable designs.
This trawler has twin diesel engines, which will help greatly in the ability to maneuver the boat in and out of your slip. By utilizing forward and reverse simultaneously, you can pivot these boats fairly easily. This boat will make a great traveling vessel, or possibly a liveaboard for the right person.
Many experienced boaters prefer the older trawlers because they are fairly simple vessels. The systems are typically simple and easy to understand. The electrical and plumbing systems are fairly simple, and maintenance is fairly easy to learn and perform by novice boaters.
